ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Mindful Communication™ is a 5-week class designed to help you speak with and connect to listeners more effectively. Participants receive training in basic communication principles and mindfulness techniques. These skills are then put into practice through assignments and speaking exercises throughout the program. Personal growth and self-challenge are encouraged through group support and personal reflection.
This program is well-suited for individuals wishing to improve their communication skills for any of the following reasons:
The goal of this program is to provide you with the knowledge and practical experience to grow into a confident, effective, personable communicator. Mindfulness-based communication training typically yields improved speaking confidence, improved audience connection skills, and an improved mental-emotional speaking state. Self-awareness is a critical component of this course, and the goal is for you to be able to independently continue improving your communication once the program is complete.
Communication skills never stop improving; there is always room for growth. This program will equip you with basic tools and understanding to create a solid foundation in your communication journey, that we hope you will continue for years to come. More information
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Rachel Muldoon is a bilingually trained SLP and communication coach with a specialization in applying mindfulness in speech and communication services. Initially exploring mindfulness and meditation with a 200 hour Yoga Alliance teacher certification in 2013, she has further developed her understanding and practice through extensive self study as well as professional coursework including Russ Harris' 16 hour ACT for Depression and Anxiety series. She has presented through speech IRL on mindfulness in the speech therapy room, and will present at the 2021 California Speech and Hearing Association Convention (CSHA) on incorporating mindfulness into executive functioning therapy using the ACT model.
